Grace.... It's one of the most beautiful words in Scripture... and perhaps one of the most misunderstood. Many of us have come to think of grace simply as God's forgiveness. And while forgiveness is certainly part of grace, the ancient Greek word χάρις (charis) paints a much richer picture. In this episode of Come Sit for a While, we slow down to rediscover the ancient meaning of charis—a word that speaks of generous favor, freely given kindness, and the joyful heart of a Father who delights in giving. Through two simple stories—an old apple tree beside a country road and a grandfather baking bread with his granddaughter—we explore a truth that has quietly been waiting beneath the surface all along. Perhaps grace is not something we achieve... Perhaps it is something we awaken to. Together we'll explore: The ancient Greek word χάρις (charis) Why grace is much more than forgiveness alone What the first followers of Yeshua may have heard when they heard the word grace How God's generosity is woven throughout creation Why every sunrise, every breath, and every invitation to come home reflect the Father's heart May this ancient word become another living seed, growing quietly within your heart.
