Chopping & Bagging Triticale near Greenville Ohio In this video a farm near Greenville Ohio is chopping and bagging triticale for silage to feed dairy heifers. To start they are chopping the forage with a John Deere 7215R Tractor pulling a Deere forage harvester (chopper) and using two Badger forage wagons and one Gehl. They are hauling the silage back to the farm using a John Deere 7520 and 4020 Tractors and have a Deere 4650 tractor on the Ag Bagger. A lot of farms will plant a crop of triticale, wheat or rye in the fall then mow and chop it for forage in the spring. This will give them a chance to double crop after the forage is harvested. Farms will generally plant corn or soybeans immediately after.
