3 At-Home Tests for TMJ Dysfunction | Chiropractor in Lubbock, TX

At 1-Spine Chiropractic in Lubbock, TX, Dr. Sebastian Garza demonstrates three simple at-home tests that can help you observe whether jaw pain may be related to TMJ dysfunction. These checks focus on muscle tenderness, how wide the jaw opens, and how well it moves from side to side. Learn more about our office at https://1-spine.com/. 🦷 The first test checks the muscles surrounding the jaw. Dr. Sebastian Garza demonstrates gently feeling along the masseter near the cheek and jawline, then checking the temporalis along the side of the head for tenderness or discomfort. Next is the rule of three test, which looks at jaw opening. Dr. Sebastian Garza demonstrates using finger widths as a simple way to observe how far the mouth can comfortably open. The third test checks lateral excursion, or how well the lower jaw moves from side to side. He demonstrates comparing the movement in both directions and watching for restriction or discomfort. 🙌 These at-home tests are not a substitute for an examination, but they can help identify findings worth discussing with a professional. ✨ $67 New Patient Special Includes a consultation, exam with range-of-motion assessment and orthopedic tests, X-rays if necessary, and a report of findings. First adjustment not included. 👋Say hi on social: Instagram:   / 1_spinechiropractic   Facebook:   / dr.gmarin   💻: https://1-spine.com/ 🏢: 5214 75th Street, Lubbock, TX 79424 📞: (806) 993-1001 ❤️ See what our patients are saying: https://www.google.com/maps/place/1-S... ❤️ #ChiropractorInLubbockTX #1-SpineChiropractic #tmj #tmjdysfunction #tmjtest #jawpain #jawmobility #jawrangeofmotion #jawtension #masseter #temporalis #jawmovement #tmjsymptoms #tmjassessment #jawopening #lateralexcursion #jawhealth #chiropracticcare #lubbockchiropractor #lubbocktx #chiropractor #1spinechiropractic
