What Does the Bible Actually Say About Homosexuality? | Daron Adkison

Few topics generate more heat and less light than this one. But the Bible isn't silent on it, and neither should the church be. This message takes an honest, careful walk through Scripture, from Genesis to Paul's letters, to show what God's Word actually says, and just as importantly, how it calls us to respond to the people around us who are navigating these questions. It starts at the beginning. Genesis 1 and 2 establish a creational design, one man and one woman joined in one flesh, that runs as an assumption through the entire biblical narrative. Like a Lego set missing its instruction manual, life assembled outside of that design rarely comes together the way we hoped. But here is where the message takes a turn worth paying attention to. The point isn't to win an argument or draw the hardest possible line. The point is the stunning grace tucked inside 1 Corinthians 6, where Paul lists homosexuality alongside greed, idolatry, drunkenness, and dishonesty, and then says three words that change everything: "such were some of you." God rewrites labels. Transformation is available to anyone. And the kingdom of God has never grown through stone-throwing. This message also looks at the way Jesus engaged someone on the margins in John 4, crossing social boundaries, speaking truth gently, and extending an invitation that changed everything. He never achieved love by softening truth, and He never achieved truth by withholding love. Those two things were never in tension for Him, and they shouldn't be for us either.
