Keighley Worth Valley Railway Diesel Gala - 20/06/2026

Filmed on 20/06/2026. After a year away from the heritage railways, we make a return to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their annual Diesel Gala. Here is the line up for the day: Class 47 no. 47715 Class 31 no. 31108 & 31210 Class 37 no. 37025 & 37218 Class 55 no. 55009 Class 08 no. 08993 & 08266 Class 50 no. 50049 Class 14 no. D9520 Rather than riding the trains, we decided to walk the whole 7 miles of the line to Oxenhope along the Worth Valley Trail. We begin at Keighley where we see the class 08's in action with 08266 shunting around to work on its shuttle services for the day to Ingrow. We see the might of 50049 making a spirited departure thundering up the steep sharp turn out of Keighley. We see 47715 makings a slow arrival into Keighley. With 37025 shunting around its freight working preparing to work on a freight service to Oxenhope. As we make our way along the Worth Valley trail, we meet fellow train spotters setting up at a very promising lineside location. Which is well worth it seeing 37025 making a thrashing a noisy impression lets say. Walking further along, we make it to Ingrow to have a look around its museum and carriage works. Timing is perfect as we see 08993 & 08226 shunting and working the shuttle back to Keighley. At the station, we see 31108 & 31210 making its arrival. Continuing further along, we make it to Oakworth where we break for lunch and enjoy the class 31's makings its arrival. We make more progress along the Worth Valley trail to end up just west of Oakworth to see 37025 & 37218 making its fine thrashing impression once again. We finally made it to the terminus of Oxenhope where we see 37025 arriving, running rounds its train before departing back to Keighley.
