Weighing Our Chickens Before Slaughter 🐔⚖️ Tomorrow is slaughter day, but we don’t simply walk into the chicken house and start picking birds randomly. In this video, I’m taking you inside the chicken house as we randomly select and weigh our chickens to make sure they’re hitting our target live weight before slaughter. Our target is around 1.8kg live weight, which should give us approximately 1.3–1.4kg carcass weight after processing. But as you’ll see in this video, some of these birds are already pushing 2kg, 2.1kg and beyond! 😳 I’ll show you exactly how we weigh the birds, why we do random checks, what weights we’re getting, and how we use this information to make better decisions on the farm.
