Mixing our own chicken feed is one of the ways we’re working towards making our poultry operation more profitable. 🐔💰 In this video, I take you behind the scenes of our feed-mixing process — from the moment the raw materials arrive, all the way through to mixing the final feed. One of the biggest costs in poultry farming is feed, so we’ve decided to take more control of the process by sourcing our own raw materials and mixing the feed ourselves. This allows us to cut out some of the middlemen, have better control over what goes into our feed, and ultimately work towards reducing our production costs. At the moment, we’re still doing everything manually with spades and good old-fashioned hard work 😂. But as the farm grows, the plan is to invest in a proper feed-mixing machine and make the process faster, more efficient and scalable. I’m documenting the entire journey — including the things that work, the mistakes, the lessons and the investments we’re making as we build this farm.
