Monday, September 14 | Morning Prayer to Give This New Week to God Have you ever opened your eyes on a Monday and felt an entire week arrive at once, before your feet had even touched the floor? 🙏 The conversation you have rehearsed a hundred times, the number you cannot make work, the decision you can no longer postpone — all of it waiting on the other side of this sunrise. But as the first light of this September 14 morning stretches across the sky, hear this: your times are not in your hands. They are in his. This powerful Monday morning prayer is built on Psalm 31:15 — "My times are in thy hand." David wrote those words while enemies pursued him and his future was completely uncertain. Notice what he did not say. He did not say his times were under control. He said they were in God's hand — and that is a very different kind of peace, available to you before this Monday has fully begun. For the person starting this week already tired, for the one carrying something no one around them can see, for anyone who has been planning first and praying later — this prayer is for you. Today we do not ask God to bless a week we have already arranged. We hand him the week itself, unopened. 🕊️ 🙏 In this prayer you will be reminded that: • My times are in thy hand (Psalm 31:15) • This is the day which the Lord hath made (Psalm 118:24) • Take therefore no thought for the morrow (Matthew 6:34) • Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee (Psalm 55:22) • If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that (James 4:15) • Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6) • A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps (Proverbs 16:9) • Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added (Matthew 6:33) • If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth liberally (James 1:5) • As thy days, so shall thy strength be (Deuteronomy 33:25) • Commit thy way unto the Lord, and he shall bring it to pass (Psalm 37:5) • I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace (Jeremiah 29:11) 📖 Biblical truths and stories in this message: • Hezekiah carrying the enemy's letter into the temple and spreading it before the Lord (Isaiah 37) • The lamb offered at dawn — the day that began with an offering, not with effort (Exodus 29) • The man who planned brilliantly for many comfortable years and never once mentioned God (Luke 12) • Joshua and the Gibeonites: a reasonable decision made without asking counsel of the Lord (Joshua 9) • Jesus rising a great while before day and going out to a solitary place to pray (Mark 1) • David asking twice about the same enemy — and receiving two completely different answers (2 Samuel 5) • Ezra's fast at the river Ahava, asking not for protection but for "a right way" (Ezra 8) • Anna in the temple night and day for decades, and the ordinary morning that answered it (Luke 2) • Abram giving Lot the first choice of the land, and what God said the moment Lot departed (Genesis 13) • Elisha burning the plow so there would be no quiet way back (1 Kings 19) • The mother of Moses placing the basket in the river she could not control (Exodus 2) • Hannah waiting years for a son, and giving him back on the day she received him (1 Samuel 1) • The widow's two mites, and what Jesus measured instead of the amount (Mark 12) • Nehemiah's silent prayer in the space between a king's question and his own answer (Nehemiah 2) • Gethsemane: the honest request first, and then "not my will, but thine, be done" (Luke 22) • Mary answering heaven, "be it unto me according to thy word" (Luke 1) • Elisha's servant at Dothan, and the mountain that was already full of chariots of fire (2 Kings 6) • The word of the Lord coming unto Jonah the second time (Jonah 3) Hear the truth that settles this Monday. You were never built to carry seven days in a single morning — strength is delivered daily, matched to the day it was given for. So hand this week over before it takes anything from you, and when you take it back on Wednesday, hand it over again. Walk into these days as someone accompanied, guided, and already provided for. 🙏 If this prayer blessed you, please LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE it with someone who is starting this week under pressure — a friend, a parent, a coworker who needs peace more than advice.
