A SIL house can be rostered entirely by hand, sleepovers and all, and the fortnight you build becomes the pattern Smart Rostering repeats. You're never locked in: any house can be rostered by hand, and your best fortnight becomes the starting point. The video uses a demonstration organisation with made-up data, and everything named in it is an example: the house Riverbend Supported Living House and its fortnight of 12 to 25 October 2026. Next in this series: Give a SIL House Its Roster Pattern    • Give a SIL House Its Roster Pattern | Bond...   Houses and sites are rostered on SIL/Smart Rostering, where you roster the house, not each client: shifts belong to the site, and a shift can need several workers. Community clients have their own calendar on Rostering. The Site/Client list picks the house; the heading names the roster period with its dates and the days left; the arrows, Today, Jump to date and Calendar range move around. On the example fortnight, + Add shift opens the Add shift window. A sleepover gets its own shift template: in Create shift template, Sleepover splits the shift into first support, sleep and last support, with active support from 17:00 to 22:00 and from 06:00 to 07:00 in the example and the sleep worked out between them. The shift is left unassigned for now, with one worker needed: this lesson builds the shifts, and staff can be chosen later. Client invoice line items pick each client's agreed support from their service agreement; one shift can hold more than one line item, a new row fills in the hours left, and every repeated shift carries the same line items, which feed the client's invoice at the end of the fortnight. Repeat this shift is available because Smart Rostering is on for this house but it has no pattern yet; once a house has a pattern, BondiByte repeats shifts from the pattern instead and the box greys out. In the example the sleepover repeats Daily, every day, to the end of the fortnight (the Repeat end date already reads 25 October), and Add shifts adds 14 shifts at once. The morning comes from the house's saved Morning shift template with Required staff count 2, and the afternoon is a Custom shift from 15:00 to 23:00, each repeated the same way: three saves, 42 shifts, all unassigned. Then the fill-status list (Unfilled, Understaffed, Fully staffed), More roster actions (Select shifts, which picks the shifts a pattern repeats, and Week starts), Neighbouring rosters, and Publish, left for now because nobody is assigned yet. A house can always be rostered by hand, with Smart Rostering on or off. Who this is for: owners, admins, managers and rostering officers who roster SIL houses and other sites. What you need A role that can view the roster and create shifts (Owners, Admins, Managers and Rostering Officers by default). A site with its team and clients linked, and roster periods for the site. Good to know The names, dates and times in the video are examples. The video saves one shift template and three repeating shifts (42 unassigned shifts) on made-up data. Repeat this shift can also repeat Weekly on chosen days, skip days, or stop after a set number of shifts (Use repeat count).
