This is the first video in a long series of drum exercises, designed to help beginners develop control, precision, timing, and independence step by step.
In this lesson, we will work on exercises that activate the coordination of only two limbs at a time, making them ideal for absolute beginners who are just starting to develop their coordination on the drum kit.
🥁 Part 1 – Right Hand & Left Hand
We will begin by focusing on the coordination between the right and left hands, practicing simple unison exercises with a slow and controlled approach.
🥁 Part 2 – Right Hand & Right Foot
In the second part, we will work on coordinating the right hand and right foot, again focusing on accuracy and control.
The exercises are played at 75 BPM, deliberately slow to give you enough time to focus on playing the unisons accurately.
At this stage, speed is not the goal. What really matters is precision, timing, and consistency. Take your time, stay relaxed, and make sure both limbs move together accurately before thinking about increasing the tempo.
As the series progresses, we will gradually introduce more complex coordination exercises and involve additional combinations of limbs.
Practice along with the video and focus on playing every note as accurately as possible.
