For decades, Willie Watson has been deeply rooted in the American folk songbook, first as a founding member of Old Crow Medicine Show and later through his work as a solo artist. His self-titled album, Willie Watson, marked a new chapter, putting his own stories and songwriting at the center of the music. That story comes full circle in "Reap ’Em in the Valley," one of the songs featured in this session. Watson looks back on the experiences that first connected him to folk music and eventually set him on the path that would lead to Old Crow Medicine Show, MerleFest, and a career spanning more than two decades.
