CFNR 500 NB | (New GS Type 3.5 E-Bell) *New LEDs* County Rd. 6 Railroad Crossing, Dunnigan CA

Oct 6, 2026 I got word a couple of months ago that this crossing remaining WCH Mechanical Bell was stolen and the railroad found out around the time they replaced the incandescents here with new LEDs and the missing bell with the current General Signals Inc. Electronic Bell. I finally got out to film the updates at this crossing since then. Also, note that the GS E-Bell that's new here has a different base than other GS Type 3 E-Bells have used. GS Type 3s have been out for a decade now and usually by now, GS would make a sound change to its bells which is why they are nicknamed types but it seems GS went with a design change instead of a sound change and I'm told that a few of these have been seen and railspotters that seen them have been dubbing them GS Type 3.5 E-Bells so I'm going to proceed and do the same. This stretch of the line between here and Zamora has a bell theft problem. First Road 89, then Road 10, and now here at Road 6. Its possible the reason Road 93B isn't dual teardrop bells anymore is possible because one was stolen and now is a GS Bell.
