It's going to be closer to Melbourne, Palm Bay, and Orlando than it is to Fort Lauderdale and Miami. While there are many pros to living in Vero Beach, there are not many cons to living in the area. You have everything you need in Vero itself, however you don't have very many things you might want. However, you do have a very nice outlet mall there!
