For this beat, I wanted to create another track with a similar atmosphere to my previous After Midnight beat. Someone asked me if I could make more beats with a similar vibe, so I decided to take that idea and create something new with a different sample and my own approach. The original track used in this beat is 「黄昏のBAY CITY」 by Junko Yagami, and it is not my own song. I paid a lot of attention to keeping the drums simple but still impactful, with light pads in the background to add more atmosphere. I also used hard 808s to give the beat more weight while keeping the overall sound smooth and laid-back. I chopped the sample heavily throughout the beat and experimented with different chops and placements to create more variation. In one section, I also pitched the sample to make that part stand out and keep the arrangement more interesting. This beat was also a way for me to respond to the feedback I got on After Midnight. I wanted to keep the feeling that people liked while making something that still feels like its own track. I'm still experimenting with different ways of flipping samples and developing my own sound, and I'm really enjoying seeing where these ideas take me.
