I experimented a lot with layering, especially by doubling the chords and giving them plenty of reverb and delay to create a wider and more spacious feeling. The beat also features a strong 808 and resonant bass in the background, while three different melodies carry through the track. I wanted the melodies to feel like they were constantly moving in and out of the mix, sometimes disappearing and coming back later to keep the arrangement evolving. I mainly wanted to create something dreamy and slightly melancholic while still keeping the energy and groove of New Jazz. I'm still exploring different ways to develop my sound, and this beat was another experiment in creating atmosphere while keeping the production interesting.
