Total DIY Overhaul: I Saved €10,000 on This Spanish Kitchen!

Welcome to Episode 5! When my Valencian wife, Sony, and I bought our village flat just outside of Valencia back in 2021, the kitchen was a total disaster. It was dark, completely closed off, and outdated. Instead of hiring a team of expensive remodeling contractors, I decided to take on a Total DIY Overhaul to transform the space on a budget. In this video, I take you inside our flat to show you exactly how we finished the massive structural updates, including: • Tearing down walls to create a modern, open-concept living space. • Building a custom central breakfast bar using modular IKEA cabinets. • Cutting and installing solid wood countertops purchased from Bauhaus. • Upgrading our space with modern appliances from Cecotec—a homegrown Valencian company! • Disguising our old gas water heater with a custom-cut IKEA cabinet. But as any DIYer knows, a house project is a journey! I also share the real, unvarnished reality of what we still need to fix next—including a diagnostic test on an ancient buzzing overhead light giving off high EMF readings, installing a sliding track barn door, and adding budget-friendly stick-on faux brick wall panels from AliExpress.
