We begin our journey at the village of Cotgrave, not far from the site of the former Colliery. Taking in the stunning sunrise, we walk ( and fly ) along the towpath until just shy of Cropwell Bishop, where we the take a turn through the local countryside towards our destination of neighbouring Village of Cropwell Butler.
