Breakout - Swing Out Sister(Guitar Karaoke)

🎤 Guitar Karaoke Saturday is back, and for this month's installment, I'm stepping way outside my usual musical comfort zone with "Breakout" by Swing Out Sister! Back in the '80s, I was pretty deeply entrenched in the hard rock and metal scene. But while I was working at a pizza restaurant, every Sunday morning before we opened, we'd have the radio on and listen to the Top 40 countdown while we got everything ready for the day. "Breakout" was on the charts during that time, and for whatever reason, this song grabbed me. It was about as far away from the music I normally listened to as you could possibly get, but there was just something about it that I really liked. At the time, though, there was NO chance I was going to admit that to anybody. 😂 I was a hard rock guy, after all! There was no way I was going to tell my friends that I actually enjoyed a Swing Out Sister song. Well... it's almost 40 years later, and I'm a little more secure in my musical tastes these days. So I'm finally coming clean: I like this song! 😎 And it was a perfect fit for a guitar karaoke, where I replace the vocals with lead guitar. And maybe, just maybe, you may like it to. If not, don't judge me. I like what I like!
