There are losses that leave more than empty spaces. They leave questions about where God is and why He has not yet acted.
Psalm 74 begins among the ruins of the sanctuary. The place where God’s people once gathered has been burned, its beauty destroyed, and its songs silenced. Instead of hiding the devastation, Asaph asks God to come near and look at what remains.
COME AND SEE THESE RUINS is for anyone standing before something that once felt sacred but is now broken. Perhaps a place of trust has been damaged. Perhaps something you prayed would survive has fallen apart. Perhaps God’s silence feels heavier than the ruins themselves.
This psalm does not ask you to pretend that everything is whole. It gives you permission to bring the ashes, the unanswered questions, and the full weight of your grief into the presence of God.
May this song invite you to read Psalm 74 and discover a faith that continues to call upon God even when no sign of restoration can yet be seen.
