Camino Francés Day 27: San Justo de la Vega to Rabanal del Camino

Biggish one today! 24 k's from San Justo de la Vega up to Rabanal del Camino, with 400 vertical metres of climbing thrown in. A longish day, and you can really feel the terrain changing under your feet as the mountains start. Walked straight through Astorga early on, with that Gaudí Bishop's Palace and the cathedral right there in the middle of things. Worth the stop. 535 k's done, 243 to go. Staying tonight at a vegan hostel called The Pilgrim Stone, right in the middle of town. Went to the 7pm church service and the pilgrim blessing at 9:30pm, both in Latin. Quite beautiful.
