A 2,300-ton bucket wheel excavator was shipped from Pakistan in 742 pieces to dig the Jonglei Canal around the Nile River's biggest swamp, in South Sudan. It cut two-thirds of the canal. In 1983, war stopped it. It has not moved since. Today 69,000 people live on its bank. #megaprojects #engineering #excavator #abandoned #nile #documentary #megastructure #southsudan DISCLAIMER ____________________________________ This is not engineering advice.
