Far away from busy cities, in a quiet village hidden deep in the Carpathian Mountains, one family continues to live a simple life close to nature. 🍂🏡
Autumn is an especially important time here. Winter is getting closer, and there is still so much work to do before the cold and snow arrive.
The family spends their days preparing everything they will need for the months ahead. They gather the last harvest from the garden, prepare and stack firewood, take care of their home and continue looking after the many animals that depend on them every day.
🪵 Firewood must be prepared before the cold weather arrives.
🥔 The last vegetables and crops are gathered from the garden.
🐄 Cows and calves need daily care and feeding.
🐐 Goats and other animals are looked after around the household.
🐖 Pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys all need attention.
🍲 And after a long day of work, the family prepares simple homemade food from what they have grown themselves.
Life in this forgotten Carpathian village is not easy. There are no shortcuts here. Much of what the family needs must be grown, gathered or prepared with their own hands.
But this is also what makes their life special.
Surrounded by mountains, animals and nature, they continue traditions that have been part of village life for generations. As autumn slowly disappears and winter approaches, every day becomes part of the preparation for the long cold season ahead. ❄️
