I went into the Leeds Running Festival 10K at Roundhay Park with one goal — try to run 43 minutes. I'd trained for it, had my pacing strategy sorted and felt ready to give it a proper go. Then I met the hills. 😂⛰️ This was one of the toughest 10K courses I've raced — 127m of climbing, temperatures around 28°C, and some absolutely brutal climbs that completely changed the plan. I filmed the start, middle and finish of the race, so come along and see how it unfolded, where things started getting painful, and whether I managed to salvage a decent result. 🏁 Finish time: 47:31 🏃 Overall: 22nd / 350 🏆 Age category: 4th ⛰️ Elevation: 127m 🌡️ Temperature: ~28°C ❤️ Average HR: 166 bpm The time wasn't what I went there for — but after seeing the course, conditions and finishing position, I'm actually pretty pleased with that one. Next mission: find a flatter 10K! 😂 If you enjoy real-world running, training sessions, races, PB attempts and seeing what happens when the race plan goes completely out the window, subscribe and follow the journey.
