There are two entries to this place named as Pattipola and Ohiya gates. Hortain plain gates can be easily approached by train. In addition you can drive from Nuweraeliya to Hortain Plains. Circular trail of Hortain Plains is the main attraction and you will come across Chimney Pool, Baker's Fall, Great World's End and Small World's end along this circular trail. It is advisable to visit the place early in the morning as mist can cover up the view of World's end. Camping at Hortain plain is an unique experience due to chilling cold at night. There are three camp sites and you need to pre book it from Wild life department office.
