Slow French shadowing practice for beginners, level A2 to B1. Today we go grocery shopping: le caddie, les tomates, les rayons etc... If you have never shadowed before, this is a good place to start. Shadowing means speaking along with a native speaker instead of listening quietly, and it is the fastest way I know to train your mouth to make French sounds without translating first. We do it in three parts, always in the same order: 1. Écoute et lis. You listen and read along, nothing to say yet. Just let the rhythm settle. 2. Écoute et répète. Phrase by phrase, with a pause after each one so you can repeat out loud. 3. On enchaîne. You speak along with me from start to finish. This one stays slow the whole way through, including part 3. It is not native speed, and that is on purpose. At this level the goal is to get the sounds and the liaisons right, not to keep up. Speed comes later, and it comes much more easily once your mouth already knows the shapes. Do it once today, then come back tomorrow and do it again. Repetition is what makes this work. Want a full week of it? My free 7-day shadowing challenge gives you one short passage a day for seven days, audio included: https://www.bonjourbrilliant.com/7-da...
