Shame Knew My Past. Jesus Knew My Name. — Shame Forgot My Name | Original Christian Music

Some things we've done can stay with us long after we've asked God to forgive us. We know what the Bible says about grace. We believe Jesus died for our sins. And yet there can still be that voice reminding us who we used to be, what we got wrong, who we hurt, or what we wish we could go back and change. Sometimes the hardest person to stop accusing us is ourselves. “Shame Forgot My Name” is an original Christian song about what happens when the truth of the cross becomes louder than the names our past has given us. The past doesn't disappear. The scars don't pretend they were never there. But they no longer get to decide who we are. That belongs to Jesus. The heart of this song is found in these words: The cross has spoken over me, The empty grave agrees. Heaven knows exactly who I am, Because Jesus remembers me. There is a difference between remembering what you've done and believing that what you've done is who you are. For those who belong to Jesus Christ, shame doesn't get the final word. Our identity isn't found in our worst mistake, our biggest regret, or the labels we've carried for years. God's grace meets us there, and the cross tells a different story. You are not being asked to pretend your past never happened. You're being reminded that Jesus already knows it. And He still calls you His. “Shame Forgot My Name” is a Christian song about shame, forgiveness, God's grace, identity in Christ, freedom from the past, the cross of Jesus Christ, and learning to believe that mercy really does have the final answer. Shame knew my past. Jesus knew my name. • Written and Performed by: Crown & Nail Records 🔔 Subscribe for more original Christian music from Crown & Nail Records. 🙌 ABOUT CROWN & NAIL RECORDS Crown & Nail Records creates original Christian music rooted in faith, truth, grace and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
