🌴 The Tropical Jungle | Ond’s Garden Welcome back to Ond’s Garden 🌿 The garden is looking more and more like a tropical jungle, with lush foliage, huge leaves and plenty of new jungle plants going in. But beneath all that greenery, the garden is facing some seriously dry and hard ground, and not everything is coping with the conditions. In this episode, I’m planting some new jungle plants and taking a look at the current state of the dry garden, including some plants that need rescuing after drying out. I check on the Disporum longistylum ‘Green Giant’, Fatsia and Tetrapanax, as well as the Canna ‘Anniei’ and the loquat tree — also known as pipa, nêspera or nespereira. There’s also a little story about Jorge Álvares and the loquat, adding a touch of history to one of the garden’s fruit trees.
