Unleashed Part 6: How do you respond to the Holy Spirit?

Are you experiencing the Holy Spirit in full measure, or is He sitting on the shelf like a bookmark in a book you never open? In Week 6 of our Unleashed series, we take an honest look at how our response to the Spirit of God directly impacts His presence and power in our lives.  While the Holy Spirit is a free gift given to every believer, God never forces His presence where He isn't welcomed. Across Scripture, we see three distinct ways we can respond to Him:  • Welcome Him: We invite the Holy Spirit in through obedience to Jesus and by surrendering our fleshly desires so our hearts align with His.  • Quench Him: We extinguish His fire when we resist His voice, neglect the spiritual gifts He gave us, or default to doubt and denial instead of biblical discernment.  • Grieve Him: We bring deep sorrow to the Holy Spirit when we allow anger, slander, bitterness, and division to tear apart the unity of God’s family. When we choose to live like Jesus—walking in love, kindness, and forgiveness—we fan the flames of the Spirit’s power in our daily lives.  Weekly Action Step: Take time this week to ask yourself before you speak or act: "Will this please the Holy Spirit, or will it grieve Him?"
