Rocksmith+ Bass – The Door Is Always Open by Waylon Jennings

Playing "The Door Is Always Open" by Waylon Jennings on bass in Rocksmith+. Recorded July 11, 2026. "The Door Is Always Open" appears on Waylon Jennings’ 1975 album Dreaming My Dreams, one of the records that helped establish the sound and attitude of his outlaw-country period. The song was written by Dickey Lee and Bob McDill. Waylon recorded the track in Nashville in September 1974. Duke Goff played bass, Richie Albright handled drums, Ralph Mooney played steel guitar, Charles Cochran played piano, and Waylon was joined on guitar by Billy Ray Reynolds, Merle Watson, and John Wilkin. The song is classic country heartbreak, with the narrator leaving the door open for someone to return even after the relationship has gone wrong. Waylon’s recording came before Dave & Sugar turned the song into a No. 1 country hit in 1976, making it an interesting example of a song that passed through several country artists before finding its biggest chart success. 🎸 Rocksmith+ bass gameplay 📅 Recorded July 11, 2026 🎶 Outlaw country / classic country vibes 💿 From Dreaming My Dreams (1975) ✍️ Written by Dickey Lee & Bob McDill 🎸 Original bass: Duke Goff ❤️ WILDFIRE RELIEF I'm supporting American Red Cross Disaster Relief.
