If you live alone after 60, the hour before bed is one of the best times to make sure your home, phone and routine are working in your favor.
In this video, I’m going through 15 simple things I’d check before going to sleep if I lived alone.
We’ll cover things like what your windows reveal after dark, where you leave your keys and phone, how predictable lighting can give away a routine, what to do with unexpected knocks at night, and why having a simple plan matters more than buying another expensive gadget.
None of this is about being frightened in your own home.
It’s about removing easy information, noticing small problems before they become big ones, and having a routine you can complete once and then stop thinking about.
Most of these habits cost little or nothing, and once they become automatic, the whole routine only takes a few minutes.
If you’re over 60, live alone, look after an older parent, or simply want to feel more prepared at night, this video is for you.
