Why is the sky blue... and not green, or pink? Peep the chick finds out! 🐥☀️💙
In this calm, simple science video for kids aged 4 to 6, we pretend light is a stream of
tiny coloured balls thrown out by the Sun. A raindrop shows that sunlight holds every colour
of the rainbow. A magnifying glass shows that air is made of tiny, tiny bits. Then we watch
what happens in the sky: red, orange, yellow and green zoom straight past, but blue bumps
into the air and bounces all over the sky. That bouncing blue light comes at us from
everywhere, so the whole sky looks blue! We finish on the Moon, where there is no air, so
the sky is black even in the daytime. Then there's a "Your Turn!" quiz to pause and answer.
✨ In this video
• Sunlight has every colour inside (a raindrop rainbow)
• Air is made of tiny bits, too small to see
• Blue light bounces around the sky the most
• Why the Moon's sky is black
• A pause-and-answer quiz

Calm narration, no loud noises, no scary surprises. The "light balls" are a picture, not
the whole story. The real idea is that air scatters short, blue wavelengths much more
than long, red ones (Rayleigh scattering). It's a common myth that the sky reflects the
sea, and the quiz gently corrects it. Afterwards, look for a rainbow in a garden hose's
spray, or ask: what colour is the sky at sunset? (That's our next video!)
