D minor groove backing track at 70 BPM - a sad, melancholy, laid-back straight 16th-note minor groove for jamming, soloing and improvisation practice. Drums, bass, rhythm guitar and electric piano only - no lead guitar, so the solo space is all yours. About 8 minutes (9 times through the 16-bar form) with a count-in and a clean ending.
Key: D minor (Dm)
Tempo: 70 BPM, straight (not swung) 16th-note feel
Progression: original 16-bar A/B form (A: i-VI-iv-v, i-VII-VI-iiø7-V7; B: iv-i-iv-VI, iiø7-v-VI-V7)
Section A (bars 1-8): Dm9 | B♭maj7 | Gm9 | Am7 | Dm9 | C | B♭maj7 | Em7♭5 A7
Section B (bars 9-16): Gm11 | Dm9 | Gm9 | B♭maj7 | Em7♭5 | Am7 | B♭maj7 | A7
On screen: the full progression with the current chord highlighted, the next chord, a beat counter, and a fretboard (standard tuning, frets 0-15) showing every note of the scale: roots in orange, minor pentatonic tones in teal, and the extra natural minor color tones (E B♭) circled in purple.
SCALES TO SOLO WITH

natural minor color tones in open position: E low E 0, B♭ A 1, E D 2, B♭ G 3, E high e 0
CHORD TONES TO TARGET
Dm9 = D F A C E
B♭maj7 = B♭ D F A
Gm9 = G B♭ D F A
Am7 = A C E G
C = C E G
Em7♭5 = E G B♭ D
A7 = A C♯ E G
Gm11 = G B♭ D F A C
Tip: over A7 the C♯ (its major 3rd, borrowed from D harmonic minor) pulls up to D in Dm9 - find it at A string 4th fret, G string 6th fret or B string 2nd fret. Over Em7♭5 lean on B♭ (its ♭5) and D; over B♭maj7 the A (its major 7th) sounds bittersweet, and over Dm9 and Gm9 let the E and A (their 9ths) ring.

About this track: the music and visuals were made with code. The chord progression is our own, the arrangement is generated by a Python script and played back with free CC0 instrument samples (Virtuosity Drums by Karoryfer Samples & Versilian Studios, Karoryfer Black And Green guitar and Black And Blue bass), with an electric piano, amp and reverb synthesized in our own code; the graphics are drawn programmatically. It does not use or copy any existing song or recording.
