Have you ever been so busy using your gifts and talents to help everyone else that you forgot about yourself?
Welcome back to another FaithfullyRae Commute Conversation!
Today, we're talking about God-given gifts, talents, and the importance of making sure that the way we use them brings fulfillment, joy, and purpose into our own lives and not just the lives of others.
In Matthew 25:14–30 (KJV), Jesus shares the Parable of the Talents, reminding us of the responsibility that comes with what has been entrusted to us.
That scripture got me thinking: What happens when we're constantly using our gifts to serve others, but we're left feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or unfulfilled?
I believe our gifts should be a blessing, not a burden.
And while using your talents doesn't always have to come with a paycheck, I believe there should be something meaningful in return, whether that's joy, peace, personal growth, fulfillment, or simply knowing you're walking in your purpose.
There's nothing wrong with helping others. But there's also nothing selfish about recognizing when it's time to establish boundaries, reevaluate your commitments, and make room for yourself.
In this conversation, I'm encouraging you to think about how you're showing up in the world and whether you're giving yourself the same care and consideration you give everyone else.
Because showing up faithfully for others shouldn't mean abandoning yourself.
💬 LET'S TALK: Have you ever felt burned out from using your gifts to serve others? How did you find your way back to joy and fulfillment? I'd love to hear your experience in the comments.
