Classic Cars Wednesdays S5E15 1953 Chrysler Imperial Newport Chrysler Fire Power Hemi 331ci V8 engine w/2-barrel carburetor. From OWNER: "Thank you for featuring our 1953 Chrysler Imperial Newport. This car was a barn find in central California where it had been for 25 years literally been "sitting in the barn". Much of it is original and currently has 70K on it. Many unique features on this example. These were the very first Chrysler products to be fitted with the fully automatic Powerflite Trans. For some strange reason this car has factory dual exhaust but that didn't happen until the 1954 model. There were only 823 units built very late in the year of 1953. We've owned it since 2010 and have enjoyed driving it and sharing. I chose not to do a full restoration as it is just too good to tear apart. Most don't even see the flaws I do. Everything power works perfectly, windows, seat, brakes and steering. This example was delivered with five MotorRim (Not Kelsey Hayes as so many state incorrectly) wire wheels which were only offered from the factory starting in 1953 through 1956. A couple of corrections to the video. This is a "Custom" and not a "Crown" with the latter only applied to the LWB limos and 8 passenger sedans. Also this car does not have disc brakes but Chrysler did offer them back in the day. Actually the only option this example does not have is factory AC which was the first year."
