I had changed up plans while spotting out in the Bay Area to get some Amtrak catches in the South Bay and then move onto the Peninsula to get some catches before returning to Oakland. I didn't film the next Amtrak after the previous catch as I skipped a couple coming this way because I wanted to make sure I get this crossing filmed for the 2nd time ever since I last did in 2016. Plus traffic didn't let me get the next one coming this way.
Since I first and last filmed this crossing back in 2016, there have been several changes mainly to the cantilever signal. Since I was last here, the first change was that the cantilevers incandescent lights were replaced with GE Pixilated Look Dotted LEDs about a couple of years after I filmed this crossing the last time. Of course there were gate and gate light changes since then also but I'm not going to note those as many times. Also, in the early 2020s the gated mast around 2023 was replaced for the cantilever with a UP 2020s Siemens gated mast replacing the old Safetran mast and its equipment and this change looks to have happened due to a vehicle hitting the old previous gated mast as the Cantilever ladder had a dent in it but that was fixed. The bell sequence here was also changed from the ring till gates rise to the whole activation. The latest change is that the newer Siemens gated mast for the cantilever had a second counterweight arms added for some reason making it a double arm setup.
Amtrak California Gold Runner Train 529 southbound passes through the Agnew Road railroad crossing on the UP Coast Sub in Santa Clara, California. I also got the train arriving and departing the Great America Santa Clara Station at the beginning.
