Here is a chase of the BRC North Outside Industry (NOSI) Job along the Kenton Line from the 14th Street Interlocking in Cicero to the 55th Street Interlocking by the Chicago Midway Airport, powered by BRC 232, an EMD GP23ECO rebuild, and BRC 291, an EMD GP33ECO rebuild - a new addition the BRC roster.
We pick up the job enroute at the northern end of its working limits at 14th St, where the NOSI clears the north end of the interlocking to shove into the 22nd Street Yard, where it serves Charter Steel. Running on a pseudo-street running portion of track inside the industry, the local pulls and spots a string of coil cars, making numerous switching moves across Kilbourn Ave. The train then departs and runs around its train at 14th for its return trip to Clearing Yard, picking up a string of Union Pacific Maintenance of Way cars stored in the siding.
High above the tracks further south at the 31st Street Overpass above Hawthorne Interlocking, the NOSI waits for a BNSF train to clear while a trackmobile inside the Best Foods industry moves a cut of outbound tank cars to the ready track. Once both are clear, the local clears the industry lead switch and shoves for another pickup and setout.
Further south, closer to Clearing, we get one final shot of the train, passing the 55th Street Interlocking at the namesake crossing, located under the CTA Orange Line overpass, where the CTA Yard and Chicago Midway Airport are in the immediate vicinity, and where we conclude our chase. Thanks for watching!
