Roots Reggae Classic: Elijah Roots, Zion Sound System – Voices of Zion (1973, Unreleased Album)

Voices of Zion is a powerful compilation of long-lost roots reggae classics — unreleased, unfiltered, and unforgettable. These are the rebel anthems of the 1970s and early '80s, recorded by unsung legends and spiritual chanters during a time of fire, faith, and resistance. Recovered from rusted reels, vinyl dubplates, and buried sessions across Kingston, Trenchtown, and the hills of St. Thomas, this collection brings together voices silenced by Babylon — now resurrected in full glory. You’ll hear thunderous Nyabinghi drumming, raw acoustic guitars, militant basslines, and chants of liberation from prophets who never sought fame... just truth. A sacred archive of rebel chants, militant meditations, and spiritual psalms once lost to time and Babylon’s silence. Pulled from forgotten tape reels, dusty dubplates, and backyard yard sessions deep in the Jamaican hills, this compilation brings together a circle of elders — chanters, prophets, warriors — whose voices once echoed through sound systems but never reached the world stage. These were the voices of fire: men and women who sang with conviction, not for fame. Elders who fasted, reasoned, and recorded by candlelight, guided by the teachings of Haile Selassie I, Marcus Garvey, and the heartbeat of Nyabinghi drums. Some walked barefoot from parish to parish to spread their message. Others vanished without ever pressing a single record. Now, their songs live again. From Zion Solomon’s thunderous chants to Elijah Roots’ militant word-sound, Voices of Zion captures a forgotten era — a time when reggae wasn’t just music... it was movement. Whispered for decades. Shelved by fear. These voices were never meant to die. Now they rise, one more time. ⚠️ Disclaimer: All artists, music, and stories featured on this channel are entirely fictional and created using AI.
