How I Outline a Graphic Novel Before Drawing It

I spent the last week and a half outlining my next graphic novel, THE SHAPE OF MY SON. This video is about the strange, quiet part of writing: staring, thinking, making a mess in a notebook, transcribing it, revising it, and slowly finding the shape of the story before the drawing begins. It’s also about why I outline the full book loosely, then only outline one chapter at a time. Leaving enough structure to move forward. But also enough room to discover things as I draw.
