How to Make an Ice Cream Cake with Hot Fudge Sauce

We make a delicious Devils Food cake mix hack. Create an ice cream cake with 3 layers of chocolate cake and 2 ice cream layers and cover it with whipped cream. Inspired by Shoney's hot fudge cake. Makes a great birthday cake for the kids or adults. Use your favorite ice cream flavor or use two different flavors for a more unique cake. We make a quick 3 ingredient hot fudge sauce to top each slice. Make the hot fudge to top ice cream anytime. Cake: 1 Devils Food cake mix 1/2 cup chocolate syrup 1 cup buttermilk 1/3-1/2 cup room temp. melted butter (per vegetable oil mix directions) 3 eggs 1.5 quart ice cream (for 6 inch cake) Hot Fudge Sauce (makes 2 cups): 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk 2 tbls. room temp. butter Whipped Cream: 2 cups whipping cream 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbls. powdered sugar Use an electric mixer with whip attachment. Chill the mixing bowl in refrigerator before whipping.
