Large Cupped Narcissus Dinnerplate / Large Cupped Daffodil Dinnerplate

Narcissus Dinnerplate is a daffodil in a the group 2 of the daffodil classification, the large-cupped narcissi: last autu,mn I bought a few more bulbs in addition to the ones I already had, and now they are in full bloom. This variety was raised by Karel J. Van Der Veek in the Netherlands and registered in 2008. The flowers are about 12 cm across, with yellowish-white tepals, against which shows off the yellow and huge, frilled corona. It has a light, sweet scent, similar to Narcissus Snowtip (    • Narcissus Snowtip, a sweetly scented daffo...   ) . Dinnerplate would definitely not pass unnoticed in any garden, considering how huge is the flower size and how big is the corona. As usual for daffodils, the bulbs need to be planted in autumn in well drained soil, and the plant thrives in full sun or at least partial shade. In summer the foliage dies down and bulbs can either be lifted and divided, or left in place keeping them as dry as possible.
