I Added 3 New Hens: Here's How It Actually Went

I lost a hen. So I brought in three new girls to join my flock of three. After losing one of my hens, I was down to a flock of three. And honestly, I was nervous. Merging new hens into an established flock can go very wrong — pecking, food-blocking, injuries. So I did it slowly. For a week, I split the coop in two. The old flock on one side, the three new hens on the other — close enough to see each other, hear each other, and get used to each other through the wire. No fighting, no forced introductions. Just time.Then came merge day. And you know what? It went better than I expected. The old flock didn't peck the new girls. They didn't block them from food, not successfully at least, cause I added food in multiple places. A few little things happened — nothing outside what's normal when chickens sort out a new pecking order. My budget is low, but my grit is high.
