A Touch of the Sun by N.C. Hunter | BBC Radio Drama | Can Money Buy Happiness?

A Touch of the Sun is a classic British family drama by N. C. Hunter, set against the contrasting worlds of modest English domestic life and the sunlit French Riviera. This vintage BBC radio drama explores money, marriage, family relationships, social class, personal values, and the search for happiness. Philip Lester has built his life around firm principles, believing that education, integrity, and self-respect matter more than wealth. But when an opportunity takes his family into a world of comfort and privilege, their familiar routines and long-held beliefs begin to look different. His wife Mary experiences a welcome change from the demands of everyday domestic life, while their children begin to see new possibilities beyond the limits of their ordinary surroundings. As the family experiences the attractions of a more affluent lifestyle, Philip faces difficult questions about his convictions and the choices he has made. Is a life built around principles enough to make a family happy? Can financial comfort solve the frustrations that come with ordinary life? Or does the pursuit of wealth bring its own disappointments? Written by British playwright N. C.
