Carved and dyed wood bowl with epoxy rim

Welcome back! In this video I'm turning a wood bowl maple block that I carve out a channel near the rim of the bowl. I use  @Alumilite Mold Making & Casting Materials  with Eye Candy mica powder. I used black, green, yellow and blue mica for the ring. This one did get a little out of round between carving and finishing. Just a little issue that wasn't foreseen at the start. I finished it with Generalfinishes wood bowl finish for a food safe gloss finish that will be appropriate for fruit bowls or anything that someone may want to put in. The carved and dyed part was a bit of a flop in my eyes as I didn't get the desired look that I was going for. It came out ok but not like what was envisioned. I ran into a bit of bleed through as you can when your wood is too thin or you leave the dye on too long, there's no sanding that out so just a warning. #woodturning #epoxyresin #alumilite #woodbowl Thanks for watching!
