The entire family bowed in deep respect before the Guru. Along with them was a small child, beautifully dressed as a Singh, whose innocence caught everyone’s attention. When Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s eyes fell upon the child, He lovingly called him closer, placed him in His lap, and asked gently: “Child, what is your name?” The boy replied with innocence and confidence: “My name is Joga.” Guru Sahib smiled and asked again: “Whose Joga are you?” Without hesitation, the child replied: “I am your Joga.” Hearing this, Guru Gobind Singh Ji lovingly said: “If you are my Joga, then I am also yours.” 🪔 The Life of Bhai Joga Singh Ji From that moment, Joga remained in Guru Sahib’s service. As he grew older, he took Amrit and became a Khalsa Sikh known as Bhai Joga Singh Ji. He dedicated his entire life to Guru Sahib and the Sikh Sangat. Later, his family arranged his marriage. Guru Gobind Singh Ji permitted him to begin married life, but gave him one sacred command: “Whenever I call you, you must leave everything and come immediately.” Bhai Joga Singh Ji humbly accepted this vow. 📜 The Guru’s Message On the day of his marriage (Anand Karaj), Guru Gobind Singh Ji sent a special letter through a Sikh messenger. The instruction was clear: The letter was to be given only after the second laav (wedding round) was completed. When the time came, Bhai Joga Singh Ji read the message. It said: “Leave everything and come to Sri Anandpur Sahib immediately.” Without hesitation, he stopped his Anand Karaj and began his journey towards Anandpur Sahib. ⚠️ The Night of Testing On the way, Bhai Joga Singh Ji reached Hoshiarpur as night fell. That night, a subtle ego entered his mind: He began to think about his own greatness and sacrifices. Walking through the town, he saw a kotha (a place of entertainment and dancing). As he stood near it, his mind started to get disturbed. A moment of weakness appeared, and he thought: “Who will even recognize me here?” But he had forgotten — Guru Gobind Singh Ji is present everywhere. 🛡️ Guru Sahib’s Divine Presence At that very moment, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Himself appeared in the form of a Singh and stood at the entrance of the kotha. Bhai Joga Singh Ji saw Him and thought: “I will enter when that Singh moves away.” But the Singh did not move. Time passed… and Bhai Joga Singh Ji kept circling the place the entire night, but could not enter. 🌅 Morning Realization As dawn approached, the Singh said: “O Bhai Joga Singh, it is now Amrit Vela. Go, take a bath, and remember Waheguru.” Hearing this, Bhai Joga Singh Ji felt deep shame and realization. He immediately turned back toward Sri Anandpur Sahib, reflecting on his mistake and Guru Sahib’s grace that saved him. 💛 The Divine Meeting When he finally reached Guru Gobind Singh Ji, after the Diwan, Guru Sahib called him closer. Bhai Joga Singh Ji respectfully said: “Guru Ji, it seems you did not rest last night… your eyes look red.” Guru Gobind Singh Ji lovingly replied: “You made me stay awake… and now you are asking me why?” Confused, Bhai Joga Singh Ji said: “I do not understand, Guru Ji.” Then Guru Gobind Singh Ji reminded him: “When you were a child, you said you are my Joga. I promised then that I am yours. So last night, I stood there to protect you from falling into a mistake.” 🙏 Conclusion Tears filled Bhai Joga Singh Ji’s eyes. He fell at Guru Sahib’s feet, asking for forgiveness. Guru Gobind Singh Ji embraced him with love and blessed him. 📌 Moral of the Story This sakhi teaches us that: A Guru never abandons his Sikh.
