I want to create a community; for myself, and for all the misunderstood autistic women who have ever felt like they didn’t quite belong. After living in London for the past seven years, I’ve never really been able to find or build a community where I truly felt understood. For the longest time, my family has been the only constant support I’ve had even though they never truly understand me. I hope this video resonates with anyone who has tried their best to connect with others, yet still struggled to find people they could genuinely relate to. Autism in women is still widely misunderstood and under-recognised, and there can be so much pressure to look, behave, or “perform” autism in a certain way to be believed. I want this channel to be a space where we can talk honestly about autism, womanhood, masking, loneliness, identity, and everything in between!
