Interferogram: a time-domain signal representing the interference pattern of light waves.
Fourier transform: a mathematical operation converting the time-domain interferogram into a frequency-domain spectrum.
Interpreting FTIR spectra: identifying characteristic peaks corresponding to specific molecular vibrations and functional groups.
