“Pressure Is a Privilege” — N. Chandrasekaran (TATA Sons) at Sai University Convocation 2026

At Sai University’s Third Convocation 2026, Chief Guest Padma Bhushan Shri Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, addressed graduating students with a powerful message on navigating pressure, uncertainty and opportunity in a rapidly changing world. Drawing lessons from sport and his own experience as a marathon runner, he reminded students that “pressure is a privilege”, that the willingness to prepare matters as much as the will to win, and that every individual must learn to run their own race and measure progress against themselves. He also spoke about the opportunities emerging from AI and technological disruption, noting that entirely new industries may emerge in the years ahead and highlighting India’s long-term economic potential.
