Geoff, Jos, Rou and I hiked to the far end of the peninsular where Rhun kindly showed us where he launched from by 'hovering' above it. I was also impressed that he was available to give advice on the phone while airborne! Rou and I launched in fairly strong conditions and the video seems to show the wind considerably off to the E. Also it was slowly dropping so I was gradually losing altitude. As Rhun also noted, there were areas of good lift initially. Geoff & Jos chose not to fly, wisely imo, and I top landed while I still had enough altitude to do so. As you also can also see from the video there are very few options for slope landing in clear ground, apart from a field with horses and powerlines in full view of the farmhouse! A beautiful but challenging paragliding site to be treated with the utmost respect! We also tried to find the launch shown on the 2012 site guide. I think it was somewhere near the green arrow in the pic at the end of the video. If I remember correctly it was, like today, full of brambles & bracken when I last visited Poppit in 2010, so I launched from one of the 2 fields behind, - red arrows
