Wed, Oct 14, 2026, I took Jen to Sycamore Falls, Sycamore Point, JD Dam and finished off riding FR11. We started and ended the day waving to the steam locomotive of the Grand Canyon Railway. Williams took a lot of rain from Hurricane Rachel that was in the Pacific Ocean and came up through Mexico, western Arizona, Neveda and more. Williams had rain and strong winds for several days. We headed out early on Wednesday morning in chilly (cold) weather. The falls did not disappoint. Both of the main falls were roaring, and 2 smaller falls were spotted on the canyon walls. On the way to Sycamore Point, we saw several horses. They were really beautiful. Sycamore Point was amazing! The skies were clear and the colors spectacular. For the first time, I saw water running in the creek bed below. I believe that same creek flows to Sycamore Falls. After snacks at the point, we rode over to JD Dam. I was amazed that there was water on both sides of the peninsula. I had been there 5 days earlier and the right side was dry. On the way home, we decided to explore FR11. Again, due to all the rain, there were a lot on puddles and water in the creek beds. We had to maneuver around a down tree and finally decided that we needed to just plow through 2 of the large puddles. It was a blast. Total ride was approx. 55 miles and 6 hours. Fun day with a fun friend! Ready for more!
