These signs are unlike the many Minor Signs that precede them. They are extraordinary events that will occur as the final stages of this world unfold. Hudhayfah ibn Usayd al-Ghifari رضي الله عنه narrated that the Prophet ﷺ came upon the Companions while they were discussing the Hour and said: “It will not be established until you see ten signs.” He ﷺ then mentioned: 1. The Smoke — الدخان 2. The Dajjal — الدجال 3. The Beast — دابة الأرض 4. The Rising of the Sun from the West — طلوع الشمس من مغربها 5. The Descent of ‘Isa ibn Maryam عليه السلام — نزول عيسى ابن مريم 6. Gog and Magog — يأجوج ومأجوج 7. Three Major Landslides — ثلاثة خسوف • One in the East • One in the West • One in the Arabian Peninsula 8. We believe what Allah and His Messenger ﷺ have informed us about, but we should not add details without authentic evidence. The exact timing of these events is known only to Allah. Allah says: “They ask you about the Hour, when is its arrival? Say, ‘Its knowledge is only with my Lord.’” — Qur’an 7:187 Learning the Signs of the Hour is therefore not about predicting a date or identifying every current event as a sign. It is about strengthening certainty in Allah, preparing for the Hereafter, and remaining steadfast upon the truth. With this introduction, we now begin a deeper journey through the extraordinary events that will precede the end of this world. From Al-Mahdi and the events leading toward the Major Signs, to Al-Masih ad-Dajjal, the descent of ‘Isa عليه السلام, Ya’juj and Ma’juj, the rising of the sun from the west, the Beast, and the Great Fire—each sign carries profound lessons and warnings. May Allah grant us beneficial knowledge, protect us from the trials of the Dajjal and the trials of the end times, keep us firm upon the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah, and grant us a righteous ending.
